This week we've noticed a shift in the weather...it's hot for a couple days then it gets really cold in the morning and the evening...what do they call that...Indian Summer?
With weather changes not only does our skin become dry our lips also become dry and even cracked. Now, staying hydrated is one important way to keep skin looking and feeling good but it does not hurt to spoil your lips with a simple, yummy, clean, and edible...no waste.
Try this homemade cinnamon lip scrub for a little exfoliation which will prep your lips to absorb the healing properties of the lip moisturizer of choice. Not to mention it’ll leave your lips naturally plumper.
Why Cinnamon?
We all associate cinnamon with fall and winter baking and fall/winter scents, but did you know that it is good for your body too. Cinnamon is an antioxidant, anti-bacterial and anti-fungal. It's known to soothe dry skin and improve blood flow hence the lip plumper. Cinnamon also acts as a mild exfoliant.
For single use you will need the following:
1- TBSP Brown Sugar
1- TSP Melted Coconut Oil or Olive Oil
1- TSP Honey or Agave Nectar/Coconut Palm Nectar
1/2 TSP Cinnamon
A clean sanitized container of your choice with lid.
Mix together all three ingredients and rub on your lip for no more than one minute. Use warm washcloth and gently wipe. Use a good lip moisturizer of your choice.
This can be used one to two times per week. You can use white granulated sugar or any other vegetable based oil of your choice
This simple scrub can last for months as long as it is not exposed to water. Keep it stored in a clean, closed container away from moisture.
